About the job

Job Description

This role offers a stable, structured opportunity to deliver domestic gas, plumbing, and heating services to residential customers across Derry, Northern Ireland. You will work on a mix of planned maintenance and reactive repair jobs, supported by a well-organised team and equipped with everything needed to work safely and professionally. The position is mobile but predictable, allowing you to know your schedule in advance while building expertise in domestic property systems. You will diagnose faults, complete installations and repairs to high standards, and interact with customers in their homes—all within a framework that values quality workmanship and long-term career development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out domestic gas, plumbing, and heating works to industry standards
  • Install, service, and maintain heating systems in residential properties
  • Diagnose faults efficiently and complete repairs with minimal disruption to customers
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations and best practice
  • Deliver professional customer service and maintain positive relationships in occupied homes
  • Work flexibly within a call-out rota to support emergency and planned work schedules

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of one year's experience in domestic gas, plumbing, or heating work who are confident, reliable, and genuinely interested in building a long-term career. You should be someone who values structure and support, takes pride in quality workmanship, and sees this role as a foundation for professional growth rather than a short-term position. Above all, you are a person-focused professional who respects customers' homes and communicates clearly with both clients and colleagues.

Experience & Expertise Required:

  • Minimum 1 year's hands-on experience in domestic gas, plumbing, or heating engineering
  • Competence and confidence working in residential properties
  • Sound knowledge of heating system installation, maintenance, and repair principles
  • Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulatory compliance in the UK
  • Ability to diagnose faults and work independently on planned and reactive jobs

Qualities & Work Approach:

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to long-term professional development
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Respectful and professional manner when working in customers' homes
  • Proactive problem-solver who takes ownership of tasks
  • Team player who communicates clearly and collaborates with colleagues
  • Willingness to embrace structured support and training opportunities

This role offers genuine progression within a business that invests in its people and builds lasting teams. Success in this position means delivering reliable, safe work while developing your expertise in a supportive environment.
