Electrical Estimator

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per year

Location: London / South East

We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join an established and growing M&E building services contractor.
The business works across a range of commercial, residential and public-sector projects, including new builds, refurbishments, office fit-outs, schools, healthcare facilities and other commercial developments.
This is a hands-on estimating position suited to an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong understanding of electrical contracting and building services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate electrical estimates and tenders from drawings, specifications and schedules
  
• Review tender documentation and identify project requirements, risks and opportunities
  
• Produce detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities
  
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
  
• Price labour, materials, plant and electrical installation works
  
• Review electrical drawings and technical specifications
  
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings
  
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and internal teams
  
• Prepare and submit competitive tenders within required deadlines
  
• Support commercial negotiations and tender queries
  
• Maintain accurate estimating and cost information
  
• Assist with the handover of successful tenders to the project delivery team

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator
  
• Experience within an electrical contractor, M&E contractor or building services environment
  
• Strong knowledge of electrical installations and building services
  
• Ability to price from drawings, specifications and tender documentation
  
• Good understanding of electrical materials, labour and installation costs
  
• Experience dealing with suppliers and subcontractors
  
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications
  
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  
• Good organisational and time-management skills
  
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  
• Excellent communication skills
  

Experience with CAD, electrical design and value engineering would be advantageous.
