Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Contract Chef to join a busy and well-established coastal hospitality venue on the beautiful Gower Peninsula for the summer season from June through September. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a passionate chef who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment while working with fresh, high-quality produce. You will be at the heart of our kitchen operations, delivering exceptional culinary standards during one of our busiest periods, surrounded by stunning beachfront scenery. Your expertise and dedication will directly contribute to our guests' memorable dining experiences throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality fresh food to consistent standards and specifications
  • Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including stock management and equipment maintenance
  • Maintain rigorous standards of food hygiene, presentation, and plating throughout all service periods
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure timely and accurate food delivery
  • Assist with menu preparation and the development of seasonal specials that showcase fresh, local ingredients
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who bring proven experience working as a Chef in busy kitchen environments, combined with a strong passion for fresh food preparation and a genuine commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will be reliable, hardworking, and genuinely team-oriented, with the ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure. We seek someone who takes pride in their work, communicates effectively with colleagues, and is eager to contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen culture.

Experience & Expertise Required:

  • Proven experience working as a Chef in a busy, high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of fresh food preparation techniques and ingredient handling
  • Food hygiene certification (preferred, though equivalent practical knowledge is valued)
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain quality standards under pressure during peak service times
